Black Forest Shires

Dinah - 1999 mare

Dinah is our best using mare.  She's a BIG gal, 15.3 solid hands, but still holds all the gypsy horse type!  She's just a lovely big, heavy mare, with tons of bone and feather.  She has pulled big gypsy caravans on roads, and is traffic safe.  She is absolutely bomb proof, in the truest sense of the word.  We drove her thru incredibly busy rush hour traffic over the motorway and thru several roundabouts while in England, and have done parades and other events with her all over the USA.  She's very easy going and extremely gentle, and is just an amazing and beautiful BIG girl that is the most bombproof horse, of any age, that I have ever had the pleasure to work with!

Dinah lived at the Kentucky Horse Park for the 2003 season.  She was ambassador for the gypsy horse breed at the park, and pulled her traditional gypsy flat-cart in traditional gypsy harness regularly at the park.  Dinah will be foaling in 2004, so won't be used at the KHP (much to their dismay), but BFS&GH will be supplying the park with another good using gypsy horse when the time comes.  Check out the KHP web site at http://www.imh.org/khp/ for all the details on the park.

Check out our events page for more pictures of Dinah at work.

Because people ask...  We really don't want to sell Dinah, but if you must have her, you would have to make us an offer we couldn't refuse. (and it would have to have many digits :>)  We REALLY don't want to sell this awesome gal.

In this photo below, Dinah, with Christine riding, is leading our group in the
2007 Tournament of Roses parade.

Jeff takes Dinah for a ride after a parade

Dinah driving in Colorado.  We had to put her in our draft horse cart, she was just too big for our light horse cart.  She is such a good mare, we are thrilled that we chose to bring her home.  That's our friend Marie from Snowghost Farms up there freezing with Jeff.  This was taken the day before Thanksgiving, (Nov 27) 2002.
