EVENTS

Throughout the year, we like to get our horses out to do special events.  Gypsy Horses are always a big hit in the public.  BFSGH is known for being the gypsy horse people that USE their horses!  We get our horses out in the public dozens of times per year, and when they are out, they don't stand in stalls, they are OUT!  We love to introduce people to these magical horses, and we enjoy using them for everything under the sun!

  • June 2007 - Jeff once again drove with a group of gypsies to the Great Horse Fair.  See the slideshow created by our friend, Judy Brodland by Clicking Here.
     
  • March 2006 - PRESS RELEASE:  The BFSGH gypsy wagon will be on display for the 2006 season in the "Gypsy Summer" photographic exhibit at the International Museum of the Horse, located at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY.  This exhibit will be the official release of the critically acclaimed book titled "Gypsy Horses and the Traveler's Way", by the renowned artist John S. Hockensmith (official photographer of the Kentucky Derby!).  The premier of the gypsy exhibit will be at the KY Horse Park on June 17, 2006, and will run through September 15th.  Opening weekend of the exhibit will feature a "Gypsy Spectacular", with numerous gypsy horses being on display and shown.  For the rest of the season, BFSGH will have the wagon on display in the exhibit, and will once again have a gypsy horse on loan to the KHP throughout the summer.  Plan your trip to KY now!  Click here for more details!

  • We rode Dinah once again in the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2007.  She was our fearless leader and led the way.
     

  • Come see BFSGH's gypsy wagon and several of our horses at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo in Denver on March 10-12, 2006.
     

  • Gypsy Mare Dinah will be in the Denver St.  Patrick's day parade on Saturday, March 11th. 
     

  • January - Lots of events!  Gypsies will be showing at the Big Thunder draft horse show in Loveland, CO (Jan 13-15_, and the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO (Jan 19-22).  We are also doing The Stock Show Parade in Denver (Jan 10).
     

  • January 2, 2006 - Watch for the horses of BFSGH in the Tournament of Roses Parade.  If you cannot attend the parade, be sure to watch it on TV.  (FYI - The Rose Parade is usually run on New Years day, but by tradition is on the following day if New Years falls on a Sunday)
     

  • December 30, 2005 - Come See Dinah, Babydoll, and Rom Baro at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center for "Equestfest" (the celebration festival that precedes the Rose Parade).  Our imported gypsy waggon will be on exhibit as well.
     

  • December 3, 2005 - BFSGH will once again participate in the Parker, CO Christmas Parade.  This parade is unique in that it is nearly 100% horse-drawn entries.
     

  • December 2-3, 2005 - Dinah will be pulling the carriage for the Colorado Renaissance Festival in Denver's annual Parade of Lights.
    (Yes, we are doing two parades on Dec. 3rd.  One in the afternoon, the other at night)

     

  • Come see BFSGH at the LA County fair in Pomona, Calif from Sept 21-25, 2005.  We will be exhibiting shires and gypsy horses throughout the 5 day event.  Contact us for class schedules if you want to see us compete! 

  • See BFSGH along with the Gypsy Cob Society in the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan 1, 2006! 
     

  • Summertime show season is upon us!  See us at numerous shows and parades in Colorado throughout the summertime.  These events include the BF Parade and Festival in August, The Draft Horse and Driving Show at the Colorado Horse Park, and the Colorado Draft Horse Classic Show in Rifle, Colorado on Labor Day Weekend.   Our Gypsy Horses and Shires will be exhibited at all of these events. 
     

  • Early June 2005 - Jeff of BFSGH will again be driving his own horse and wagon to the world's largest gypsy horse fair in Northern England!
     

  • June 10-12, 2005 - Western States Horse Expo, Sacramento, CA - Featuring our horses and our Bowtop Gypsy Wagon
     

  • May 13-15, 2005 - Equine Expo of Texas - Fort Worth Texas - Featuring our horses and our Bowtop Gypsy Wagon. 
     

  • April thru October  2005, and every year - Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY
    (One of our gypsy horses will be on display there again this season!)

*  2005 Black Forest Parade and Festival, Aug, '05


Above is a picture of our riding crew (there wasn't time to get driving vehicles together, as Chris and Jeff were just in town for the day) from the BF Parade and Festival 2005.  From left to right, on the phone = Dr Jeff (our vet) riding on Dinah (even our vets can't resist the allure of the gypsy horses!), Katie riding on Barney, Christine on Babydoll, and Jeff on Godiva.   That's Candi out front on the ground posing with Dinah. 

* March 11-13, 2005 - Rocky Mountain Horse Expo - Denver, CO (featuring our traditional BowTop gypsy wagon and several of our horses)

* February, 2005 - Equine Affaire - Pomona, CA,  (featuring our traditional BowTop gypsy wagon!)
 

* January 8-23,  2005 - National Western Stock Show - Denver, CO.  The BFSGH  BowTop gypsy wagon was on display at the National Western Stock Show,  during the run of the show and our horses were also featured during the "Coors Draft Horse and Mule Show" on the last weekend of the Stock Show.

* November, 2004 - Equine Affaire - Springfield, MA -  (featuring our traditional BowTop gypsy wagon!)

* August 28-29, 2004.  Gypsy Cob Show at the Colorado Horse Park

* August 14, 2003 - Black Forest Parade and Festival (top photo on page is from this event)
