First-Ever USA Gypsy Cob Show
Parker Colorado, August 28-29, 2004.

In summer, 2004, the Colorado Horse Park announced that they were to add gypsy cob classes to their annual draft horse show.  Naturally, it being "in the neighborhood", BFSGH had to participate!  Unfortunately, late timing made it impossible for the horse park to coordinate everything with the Gypsy Cob Society, but the classes were held anyway, for all comers who wanted to participate with their gypsy cob (they did use the breed standard as provided by the Society to accept entries and judge the classes).  Several farms from the Colorado area and several breeders visiting from other parts of the country attended, and made it a wonderful weekend!  The show was combined with the open draft show, so there were plenty of spectators to appreciate the unusual gypsy cobs, and to watch our gypsy cob classes.  Our judge for the weekend was a certified judge from Scotland, so showing our horses in front of a judge from their home-turf was extra special!  The cobs were a huge hit, and we showed the spectators that gypsies truly can do ANYTHING!  Below are some pictures of the various activities over the two day show.

Left:  Bowtie waits for his class - Center:  Bowtie runs obstacles - Right:  Bowtie tries his hoof at barrel racing (and WON!)

Rom Baro, at a break-neck speed <grin> runs barrels too.  At least he does it with style!  (He didn't win :>)
His forlock is done-up in these pictures, it was a last-minute decision to saddle him up for the races, and he was in the middle of "getting his hair done"!

Bowtie "Goes Packin" -  Bo was asked to participate in a packing demo.

Sandy goes for a ride with our niece Christian (13 years old) aboard.

Rom Baro (and Bowtie too) wait patiently for their chance to run barrels.  Rom Baro took this opportunity to meet some of his adoring fans.  That's our niece Catie (15 years old) aboard Rom Baro
