First Annual Gypsy
Horse
Breeders and Owners Meeting
April 8-9, 2003 - Columbus
Ohio
NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION
In
order to have a foundation set in place before the meeting, a name for the
organization must be established prior to the meeting. All other
details (standards, by-laws, articles, etc) can be decided upon or changed
at the meeting, but the name isn't easy to change (although not
impossible; this too will be voted on with the new membership and board of
directors). Because we have to have a name to begin the paperwork
with, we first accepted nominations for the name, and are now accepting
votes on those nominated names.
In
order to vote for a name, you must include your name, address,
phone, and e-mail address, so that each person can only vote once.
You may be contacted to verify your nomination/vote. (All results of
nominations and votes will be available for audit by any person requesting
this information).
NEWS: Due to some
changes in the legal way the association is being set up, it won't be
nearly as difficult or costly to change the name of the association now.
This means that although we have to choose a name to use for the initial
set up of the registry, that we can relatively easily change it at the
meeting in April. At that time, the members will vote to keep or
change the name. So, cast your vote, but don't worry, it's not "set
in stone".

Jan 23, 2003.
Voting on a name of the association was a huge success here are the

their participation. Here are the results:

NOTE: Although
we had initially intended to hold a "run off" vote, to be sure that the
people who voted for the lesser-chosen names still got a "say", we have decided
to hold off on that. Now that our attorney has informed us that the name
can easily be changed after the meeting in April, we will just go with the
top-voted name to save some time. It will be finalized and voted upon
again at the meeting! Absentee votes will be taken from members at this
time as well, details to follow.
